Pink Shirt Day

Today is pink shirt day.  We are wearing pink shirts to make people think about bullying.
We think bullying is a bad choice!  We make good choices in Room 11.

Chev Club Visit

On Tuesday three men from the Chev Club came to show us their old cars.
The green car was made in 1927.  The two black cars were made in 1938 and 1939.
We were allowed to sit in them and look at the engines, the horns, the boots and the dashboards.   Mr McCurdy tooted his horn, it was really loud! They were all very different to our cars at home.

We really liked looking at the cars.  Thank you for bringing them to show us.

Powhiri

On Tuesday we had a powhiri to welcome all of our new people to school.
Tauroa was on the receiving line to welcome Room 11.  There was a lot of talking that we couldn't really understand and Te Whanau Awhina sang some songs.

Welcome to our school.

Mr Cressey's old toys.

On Monday Mr Cressey brought his old bikes, scooters, toys and caravan along to school for us to have a look at.
We were lucky enough to be allowed to have a ride on them.
They were heavy because they were made of steel not plastic or aluminium like our toys are today.

Super writer

It is only day one back at school but already Halatoa has been to Mrs Dawson to share his super writing.
He did a great job of hearing and recording the sounds he needed for his story.
