A Picnic at Totara Park

School is over for 2011 and to celebrate all of our hard work we had a school picnic at Totara park.
We want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and look forward to sharing our work with you again next year.

To all of Mrs Nathan's amazing star students, good luck and don't forget to come and visit me in Room 10 :)

My Dog

We read Margaret Mahy's story 'My Dog' and then we wrote our own dog stories.  Here are the paintings we did to go with them.  Check out our stories on each of our pages.

Pizza day

Today the whole of Room 10 had pizza for lunch.  It was from Hell Pizza in Manukau because Tyler won a Halloween colouring in competition.
Tyler's mum brought strawberries and juice for us as well.
The pizza was so yum that we ate until we couldn't eat anymore!

Thank you Tyler and Hella Pizza Manukau for our yummy, yummy lunch!

Congratulations to Tyler, who is a great artist!

Kiwi Can

Today at Kiwi can we talked about Honesty.

I am honest
I am true
If I can do it so can you.

When we tell little lies they grow into big lies and then we get in big trouble. It is always best to tell the truth. We will still be growled at but it won't be as big.

Tyler and Andre were our Super stars today.

Our Shared Writing

Once upon a time a shiny fish was swimming in the ocean when he saw a huge whale. He very carefully swam over to the whale to talk to him.
"Hello Mr Whale." he said.
"Hello yummy little fish." said the whale. "What can I do for you?"
"Can you help me find my fish family?" said the shiny fish.
"I think I saw your family swimming this way." said the whale as he opened his mouth wide.
"Oh thank you Mr Whale." said the little fish and he swam inside.
The whale quickly shut his mouth and swallowed the little fish whole.
"Yummy!" said the whale.

Kiwi Can

In Kiwi Can this week we continued the topic of Honesty.  We had races and we really needed to be honest about whether we went around the cones the right way.

Mafile'o and Nikura were our superstars this week.  Well done boys!

Congratulations!

Congratulations to Isaiah who won a prize in the Faber-castel colouring competition. He was one of 250 entrants to receive a box of goodies.
Great work Isaiah!!

Grumpy bear wanted to sleep but all of the animals were making too much noise.
He growled at them but they didn't care, until he showed them his teeth and his claws!

Term 4 begins

Wow our holidays went fast but we are back and ready to learn, learn, learn!

It is the first week of Term 4 and we will be spending a lot of time getting ready for Prizegiving and of course all that last minute learning before we go on holiday over Christmas.

We started our term with Kiwi Can and this week we looked at honesty.  It is important to always tell the truth whereever you go.

Our Kiwi Can stars this week were Lilly and Chaise.
They showed how honest they were during the numbers game.
 Great job ladies!

We are very happy that the All Blacks have won the Rugby World Cup!
Congratulations to the All Blacks, you are fantastic role models and we are very proud of you!

Kiwi Can

On Wednesday we went to Kiwi Can with Room 8.
We learnt more about bullying.
If you hit someone or are mean to people they will be mean back to you.  So make sure that you are nice and kind to everyone.

We played statues

Zachariah and Chevelle were the stars for this week.

Sports Report- Russia v's Italy

Last night Russia played their second game against Italy.
While Russia played hard the Italian scrum was just too strong for them and they lost 53-17 with Russia scoring 3 tries.
Here are some photos of the action.

We can't wait for the next game on Sunday against Ireland.  It's going to be tough but we will still be cheering for Russia.

Sports Report- Russia v's USA

We are very sad to report that USA beat Russia 13-6.  We think that Russia played a great defensive game and they stopped USA from scoring a lot of tries!  What a great effort for their first ever World Cup game!!!

Here are some shots of the action

Welcome to Room 10

This week we had three new people come to Room 10.

Welcome to Room 10 Schaniya, Isaac and Chevelle, we are very glad you have joined us!

Kiwi Can

Today in Kiwi Can we talked about bullying.
There are two types of bullying.
  • Physical which is hurting by touching
  • Verbal which is hurting with words
Room 10 don't like bullies and we always try to be nice to others.

Here is a video of Zachariah leading our warm up!  You are a natural leader Zachariah!
