2015 comes to an end

Well today is the last day of school for 2015!

What an amazing year we have had in Room 11.

Have an amazing holiday, stay safe and keep on learning.  Mrs Nathan will be waiting to hear all about the fun things you have done when you return in 2016.

To the families, thank you so much for the support you have given us this year.  It is only with you that your children can make the progress they have.

To Miss Sian, thank you for joining us in Room 11 this year!

And to Whaea Maeva, as always it is an honour to work with you!

Prize Giving

On Wednesday we had our Junior School Prize giving.

We have been practicing and practicing our song and dance.  

We made our lei, head dress and wrist cuffs.

 Congratulations to Patrick and Kasslin who received our class prizes,

and to Tupu who won the top Year 0 reading award!

We are all so proud of you all!

In Breaking News...

It has just been confirmed that Monaro was second in the Year 0/1 boys final!

School Athletics Day

Today we had athletics day.  We were all very excited to have our races and run as fast as we could!

Oh my Goodness!  What a great week for writing in Room 11!

Today's writers were amazing at hearing and writing the sounds they needed, they knew where to find words and they had written three or more sentences!

Star Writers

Wow!  What a great week we have had with our writing!

Here are three of our stars who are now writing more than 3 sentences!

They are able to write lots of words and hear the sounds the need by themselves.

Jump Rope for Heart

Today we went skipping for Jump Rope For Heart.  We did lots of skipping and we saw Hearty.

We had lots of fun.

Star Writer.

Today's star writer was Laki.  He worked hard to hear the sounds he needed.  He remembered to use all our prompts to write his three sentences.  Keep up the great work Laki.

Worlds Apart Show

On Tuesday we went to the hall for a show.  It was about two children who lived one hundred years apart, but with a magic box they were able to see each other.  By writing letters to each other they were able to help each other.

Star Writers

Today we had two Star Writers.

Monaro and Issac O both worked hard to meet our goals.  They needed to remember to include a 'what' sentence, add some details and talk about how they felt.  

We are very proud of how much you have both improved with your writing!  Keep up the great work!

Expo today!

Today is our expo and we have our work on show.

Come along and see our glove monsters, pinwheels and jigsaw puzzles.

Star Writers

Today we had two star writers.

Both Monaro and Kasslin have worked hard with their writing.  Their goals were to write more than sentence, thinking about including 'what they wanted to tell us about',  what it looked like or what they saw and how they felt.

Room 11's Assembly

Today Room 11 led the Junior School assembly.

We used lovely clear voices and were great examples for the rest of the school.

Congratulations to Laki, Monaro and Peter who won certificates today.

We also won the certificate for the best class at assembly :)

Counting Champs

We have two new counting champs in Room 11 today.

Peter and Monaro can count all the way to 100 and then some more!
